Hi, just a post to try to find out what medications people that have bpd take.

I was diagnosed a few months ago and at the time was told there's no medication to treat it, but after putting a post on here I was told to push for help and medication because there are lots of medications that can help.
Planning going back to docs to push them for something but looking for more info so I can give examples when I go.
Thanks.

Hi I've had group work in relation to a self harm group. mentalisation course (but had to drop out for physical health reasons).

Medication wise I had had loads over the years, a combination of mood stabilisers, antidepressants and antipsychotic

Over 25+ years timescale, however my diagnosis changed at least 4 times over that time

ANTIDEPRESSANTS TRIED
• Citalopram
• Anafranil
• Dothiepin
• Fluoxetine
• Mirtizapine
• Aropax
• Zoloft
• Effexor
• Effexor XR

MOOD STABLISERS TRIED
• CARBAMAZEPINE
• GABAPENTIN
• LAMOTRIGINE
• SODIUM VALPROATE
• TOPIRAMATE

ANTI PSYCHOTICS TRIED
• Amisulpheride
• Aripiorazole
• Chlorpromazine
• Clopixol
• Clozaril
• Flupenthixol
• Haloperidol
• Olanzapine
• Quetiapine
• Risperidone
• Thioridiazine
• Trifluoperazine

SEDATIVE – HYPNOTICS
• Alprazolam
• Ativan
• Clonazepan
• Diazepam
• Zopiclone

It has been combinations of all these that have kept me alive when I didn’t want to be, esp as a late teen/early 20s that and 2 courses 6 months apart of ECT without while I wouldn’t have got have got this far which was 2 mornings a week so 12 in each course,

Hope you get some help or that is useful to you
