SEVERE EMEMTOPHOBIC NEED ADVICE

Some context - I’m an extreme emetophobe with severe ocd and anxiety, I take anti depressants and am waiting for my 4th try at cbt. I became unwell a couple of weeks ago and as a coping mechanism starved myself and almost stopped drinking. I ended up being hospitalised for the night -

I was unwell 2 weeks ish ago. I quarrentined myself, took many precautions, took nausea medication, my mum bleached everything.

I don’t know what to do about my iPad and phone. I’ve thrown my earbuds and earplugs away and ordered new ones as they’re easy and cheap to replace. However my iPad and phone are expensive and less easily replaced. I have thrown my phone and ipad cases away already. I have been wiping my phone and iPad daily with Clinell universal wipes. The issue is I just don’t feel they’re completely clean, I’m on the verge of selling them both to rebuy different ones that I didn’t touch when I was ill. I’m terrified they’ve still got germs on them and it will means someone will get ill or I'll catch it again when my immunity wears off.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi op, I suffer from emetophobia and anxiety as well. By the time you are no longer immune the germs will no longer exist on your ipad and phone, norovirus germs live on hard surfaces for up to 3 weeks, your immunity to this strain will last for 3 months. I have researched this extensively. You will not re-infect yourself with these items. If you are really worried about other people then just don't let them touch these items but honestly outside of your phobia this is not necessary but I totally understand your feelings that it is necessary. The most important places are the places where you were sick and/or had bowel movements, as long as you and everyone else washes their hands before eating or putting their fingers in their mouths they will be okay.
