When I was younger I self harmed and have some big deep scars on the tops of my arms and thighs. This never usually bothers me unless I end up in new situations (with new people) where I might expose those parts of my body.
It's very hot where I am now and I'm wearing sleeveless tops and planning to go in the pool with DC etc.
Sometimes people ask me what they're from and I usually just become very embarrassed and try to make up a lie. I'm really shit at lying too. Or I notice them staring and feel very self conscious.
I'm wondering what do people say if they're asked? And if you have children, what did you say to them if they asked?
