When do you know it’s depression?

Hi I’m finding it hard to eat, am waking through the night and can’t make decisions. I’m currently on 100mg of trazadone for the insomnia which I’ve been taking for 7 years but I feel like my thoughts are so negative. I exercise, eat well, limited caffeine and do yoga etc but it’s not helping. I feel like I’m letting my family down by being like this. Which AD would anyone suggest? Thanks in advance.

I think you should go to your gp and maybe ask to be referred for counselling.

People react very differently to different Ads so it's almost impossible to get recommendations iyswim. Your Dr can guide you.

Do you mind telling us what you are worried about?

It sounds like you are making positive steps to deal with things so that's good.

There's no magic pill that works for everyone. Different pills suit different people. Definitely GP.

Thanks for your replies. I will see the gp on Monday. My worry is around making decisions and then being convinced it was the wrong choice which then makes me really stressed. I overthink everything and I can’t seem to enjoy the moment.

Good luck. The right medication and/or support can make a huge difference.
