Prozac and insomnia

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me. I have been on ADs for many years, more recently for anxiety rather than depression. I saw a psychiatrist recently as my anxiety was getting worse, and he recommended a change from mirtazapine to Prozac. This was rough to start with as expected - however I did start to feel better after a while. The problem I have since finishing the mirtazapine is very severe insomnia, which I understand is a side effect of prozac. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and whether it went away after a while or was long term? I would like to stick with the prozac if possible as I do feel it's helping me. I'm really reluctant to go back on the mirtazapine as it's only since stopping it that I realise how much it was affecting my energy and clarity of thought. However I can't cope with not sleeping!

Any experiences/advice gratefully received - TIA.

When do you take it? If you take it at night, try taking it in the mornings.

I’ve been on it for 3 years nearly.
If I take mine after about 12 I don’t sleep!! Take it first thing in the morning if you’re not already

Should be ok if you take in morning. Otherwise speak to dr about it

Thanks, however I'm already taking it first thing in the morning.

Not sure. When I was on it years ago I was also prescribed zopiclone but I don't know if that was the reason because i was already not sleeping
