How do I explain the dark clouds to dh?

Don't know what the dark clouds are but how do you explain them to your spouse?
I feel they are a sign of weakness. Dh is very pragmatic and will probably just tell me to pull myself together and to stop wallowing. I don't want to feel this way.

Might something like this help? It gets used a fair bit in mental health awareness training because it helps people understand the difference between being a bit sad, and depression

The black dog is a perfect summary of how I feel.
Dh is home in about an hour and I need to open up to him. It will be hard, though, as I have never talked to anyone about my 'black dog'. I need to get it out in the open, though, as I feel it is eating me up from the inside and pretending it is not there is so tiring.
Thanks for answering

I wish there was 'a' way of doing it that someone could let you in on the secret of, but for what its worth I'll be thinking of you, hope you manage to find the words Flowers

I email my dh if I need to tell him something about how I feel. Or send him links to sites for him to read.
