TheBogWitchIsBack · 26/05/2018 12:05

Enjoy it ..it's extremely liberating.

Bigspottyape · 26/05/2018 12:08

is it anti depressants?!? I couldnt give a shit

OP posts:
Cleanermaidcook · 26/05/2018 12:09

It's ace isn't it Smile I'm 46 and it has come with age.

TossDaily · 26/05/2018 12:10

Me too. I quite love it.

BlueEyedBengal · 26/05/2018 12:17

It gets to a point that you visualise yourself as a yapping toy dog yapping away no one caring what you say about anything. It's at that point you say it's a waste of my time telling this total idiot what I think of him apart from saying I don't give a shit what anyone says or does, this is my life and apart from my kids nothing is important. I think that comes with age. Not to give two shits about unimportant stuffSmile

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/05/2018 12:22

I remember someone saying to me that it comes with age and by God where they right. As you get older you realise pleasing some of the people some of the time is relatively doable. However pleasing all of the people all of the time is impossible.

BusterGonad · 26/05/2018 12:28

Ha ha. I love this thread, I'm a bit like that too now. Are you anti depressants Op. if yes then good for you as they are obviously working and now you are feeling liberated!

Bigspottyape · 26/05/2018 15:12

I'm on Prozac and I'm only 31 surely too young to be like This!

OP posts:
vampirethriller · 26/05/2018 15:16

I feel the same and I'm 36. Could be that you're not as anxious now you're on anti depressants? I'm on Prozac too.

BlueEyedBengal · 26/05/2018 16:04

I'm not on anti depressants just married for 29 yrs with 6 kids. I think it's like you are running a marathon and you get to the point that you smack into the wall and you can either stand there smacking pointlessly into that wall or smash through and say fuck all the pointless shit that you deal with, and get on with all that's great in your life and the important things that enlighten your world around you.

Bigspottyape · 26/05/2018 16:06

I have no idea but it's great. I no longer do things I don't want to and I'm saving myself a fortune!!

OP posts:
UpstartCrow · 26/05/2018 16:08

You probably dont feel anxious any more. Its surprisingly easy to mistake anxiety for other emotions, such as being eager to please. Its the same if you take diazepam or lorazepam, its completely liberating.

TheBogWitchIsBack · 26/05/2018 16:09

I'm not on antidepressants but I am in my mid 30's.
I realised that most people are so wrapped up in themselves and their own lives to give a shit about what I'm doing so I might as well just do and say what I like!
I'm more outspoken and I say what I think more than I did when I was a bit younger. I'm less of a push over now too.
Getting older is great! Embrace it.

Bigspottyape · 27/05/2018 09:08

Another thing I can't be arsed with people's endless stupid made up dramas it's so boring!

OP posts:
Bigspottyape · 27/05/2018 12:49

and no one ever asks one thing about me

OP posts:
Bigspottyape · 27/05/2018 13:42

God I really feel like if I had the guts I'd just kill myself today. It's so pointless

OP posts:
Annamadrigal · 27/05/2018 13:58

Ah OP, how are you feeling? (Not wishing to be trite) You can talk to us Flowers

Bigspottyape · 27/05/2018 14:02

I just can't fucking be arsed

OP posts:
TheBogWitchIsBack · 27/05/2018 14:57

Hi op, how long have you been on antidepressants? They do say these feelings can get worse during the first few weeks and then you start to see a steady improvement.
Keep talking, rant, whatever helps.

Bigspottyape · 27/05/2018 15:05

years because I'm even worse without them

OP posts:
TheBogWitchIsBack · 27/05/2018 15:45

In sorry I didn't mean to sound patronising op, do you have much real life support?

LornaMumsnet · 27/05/2018 17:14

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly.

Annamadrigal · 28/05/2018 08:48

Hi Op, how are you today? Went to visit parent's and had no Wi-Fi 😢 Just wondered if there was anything going at the moment which triggered how you were feeling yesterday?
Is today any better?

BlueEyedBengal · 28/05/2018 21:46

How are you o p? I hope you are feeling fine today sending good vibes your way. Thanks
