Crazy itchy scalp & neck - can't stop!

Hi all,
I'm writing on here as a sort of last hope that someone knows what I'm going through. In the past 8 months I've had the most frustrating itch on my scalp, no itching is good enough to stop this need. I started off thinking it was dandruff, then psoriasis and now I'm at a loss.

I had hair extensions when the itch started so I got them taken out thinking it would rid me of the itch. WRONG. I have used all dry scalp creams known to man and nothing helps. I've visited the doctors 3 times looking for a remedy and after trying steroid creams and more shampoo's nothing worked there too.

I honestly can't explain how frustrating this is for me and how its affecting my whole life and moods. I can't go 20 minutes without tearing my scalp off and no one seems to know what's going on or why this has randomly developed and won't go away.

The doctor now thinks its anxiety related which I would be happy to accept if it stopped the constant pain and itch. I've been taking my anxiety meds for 2-3 months and it hasn't made a difference. She has told me to try mindfulness and although it might help for other reasons I can't see how it is going to help my itchy scalp!!! I'm totally demented.

Has anyone ever known anything like this and is there a cure because I can't continue on with this as agonising as this is in my life.

Im assuming you've ruled out headlice?

Have you also tried an antihystimine just in case it is a physical thing?

Yea definetly not lice, my mum checks everytime I’m in her company. I wish it was to be honest, then there would be treatment.

I was prescribed two types of antihistamines, one slightly stronger for bed time but I still wake up several times in the night scratching away. 😭
