Hi,
Has anyone any experience of trying to get a visa for the US? Wondering if my mental health history will be an issue. Thanks

It would be for an L1 visa by the way.

No, getting an L1 visa is entirely job related and involves proving that your managerial / executive experience and position within the company warrants the transfer. There is no medical required and no health questions asked at any point.

(If you want to ask more about the L1 visa, it might be worth getting this thread moved to Living Overseas, there's a good amount of info over there on previous posts about L visas.)

Thank you. I know what you mean, but I don’t want to draw too much attention to myself, so would rather leave it here.

Understood. Good luck with the visa.

I've never heard of mental health being a factor with getting a visa to the US. I researched US visas pretty extensively when my husband and I were trying to see if it would be easier for him to come there vs me here (England).

I could only see it being looked at if your mental health was a factor in a criminal conviction against you.
