I'll keep it short. I'm 23 and have suffered with chronic depression since I was 11. Does anyone get those days where you just think "nope not today" and even getting dressed can seem like climbing Mount Everest? I have no friends, and have a very short fuse. I just want to know I'm not suffering alone

I'm sorry you're feeling like this OP. You're definitely not alone. I've had periods of depression during my life where even the smallest task has felt insurmountable.

Do you have anyone you can lean on?

ilovemykittyy · 28/04/2018 14:34

Yes I have my partner, he's amazing. I just feel like
I'm on my own all the time x

I'm sorry OP. Some days are worse than others.
Are you on any medication? Does anything work for you? Exercise helps me but the dog isn't able to walk far at the moment and I'm in too much pain to do exercise classss.

ilovemykittyy · 28/04/2018 14:51

@Wolfiefan thank you, I'm on 40 mg citalopram a day. My cat keeps me going, she's been my therapy, I swear she knows when I'm having a bad day because she will sit with me and follow m as if to say "I'm here mum" I'm a tiny bit over weight by a couple stone, and trying to loose that is difficult, it's hard. X

I'm putting on weight too. I should be back on citalopram but the GP forgot to hand me a prescription and I need to get myself back there.
Tried any CBT? Managing to get out the house? Do any exercise? It's tough.

ilovemykittyy · 28/04/2018 15:44

CBT is hard to get, I've been in he waiting list nearly a year now, I do get out the house and do have a full time job, I've never claimed benefits or anything I've always pushed through it. Just some days I can't even get out of bed x

Can you access help online at all? Our local GP will also prescribe reading.

ilovemykittyy · 28/04/2018 16:24

I've tried to have a look, but it's abit naff and that doesn't seem to help anyway

Depression is s part of my main diagnosis and it’s sucks it really does. It affects my life in so many ways.

ilovemykittyy · 28/04/2018 16:59

It sucks doesn't it. Everyday is a new battle

OP posts:
fantasmasgoria1 · 28/04/2018 17:03

It certainly is a battle. It’s hard to get out of bed and start the day sometimes. It’s hard to get motivated to do anything. You feel you are worthless and no use to anyone at all.

Oh yes, and then even when something good happens I still struggle to be happy. 😣

People that haven't had it don't understand. I've livers with this for so long, it's like my shadow, it creeps up every now and then. Most days are hard. Today's isn't so bad. Just relaxing, but when I try and go out it gets hard x
