After posting on here last week bout being a shitty arse re- taking citalopram, I have finally pulled up my big girl pants after the support on my previous thread and started taking them, ( better late than never eh) soo I am just wandering if any other MNs r just starting citalopram ( or n e other ADs ) would like to join in so we can all help each through on our mission to kick Anxiety- depression firmly up its arse and down the road m, so it can hopefully fuck off outta our lives for good,
I personally find threads like helpful @ 2am when the citalopram pisses bout with my sleep pattern ConfusedAngry

I was prescribed citalapram a few months ago for my anxiety.... I started taking them but felt so awful I stopped now I'm too scared to take them again even tho I need to as my anxiety is getting worse. I've been on venlaflaxine and going on that and coming off I had to take a week off work as the withdrawals were that bad :/

Ah that's not good, how citalopram were you prescribed? I once yrs ago tried fluoxetine but like citalopram did to you made me feel awful, it scared me bout trying ADs ever again, have you seen your gp bout it?

Only 20mgs and I know it would only
Be for a week or so.. but I'm really worried lol. I work in a nursery so need my wits about me ... may well need to take a weeks annual leave at this rate to get on them. How much have you been prescribed?

scorcio5 · 24/04/2018 20:19

10mgs, a tiny dose really, however I am really sensitive to medication always have bin, 30mg codeine can knock me out for a week, I'd make a crap drug addict Grinwould it be worth asking you gp if you could try something to combat the side effects during the first few weeks?

I think I'm going to have to. Tho not sure what he'll say or what he'll be able to do

My gp also gave me a short supply of propanol to help if my anxiety starts to go up, as a side effect.
if they making you feel sick, maybe some anti sickness tablets?

I had no appetite ( not a massive thing as I'm overweight anyway ) and felt spaced out. I definitely knew I'd taken something after a hour of taking it. Just felt odd.
I know it's only temporary but I'm scared. But at the same time my anxiety is crippling me :(

I know the feeling, I think it's called de personilation?? I'm feeling a bit like that now on day 2, however after my first dose it was worse, felt like like I was walking through mud, like you said though, Anxiety can make you exactly the same, but at least with the tablets you know it's not going to be forever and it's working towards getting better
