Hi all

I am in a very dark place (again) mentally and also dealing with some alcohol issues.
I have concerns for my own safety and while the local crisis team are being very supportive I don’t feel their in patient unit is the right place for me to recover and am in the fortunate position that I could look to go private.

Has anyone here any experience of an in patient safe place that could deal with alcohol and mental health issues? Ideally midlands but happy to travel anywhere UK or Ireland.

I can find loads of rehab units online but also need the help with depression and anxiety.

Thanks

I found The Priory Hospitals really good. If you are self funding is about £5k per week. If you have insurance they will usually pay for c.30 days as an inpatient.

I've spent time in a Priory and from my experiences I would advise to stay well away. And if you are a threat to your safety they won't deal with it. Made things much worse for me. I've heard of better private places in Ireland, can't remember the name of the others but one was Castle Craig, they're more alcohol based rehab places that are holistic and caring, and understand the use of alcohol for coping with whatever it is that is going on underneath and can help you look at that. Good luck
