What do you do when you're an absolute danger to yourself?

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 21/04/2018 22:57

In what way?

If you’re worried about hurting yourself you can go to a and e or call the Samaritans, gp out of hours or a crisis team if you have one involved.

PurpleDaisies · 21/04/2018 22:57

Do you have any friends or family you can call?

Cantchooseaname · 21/04/2018 23:24

I second Samaritans. Call or email. There is another choice- let them help you make it.

glsgow107 · 22/04/2018 00:37

Thank you. But there's no point.

OP I've called an ambulance for somebody close to me who hit rock bottom and felt they were an immediate danger to themselves. They told me I had absolutely done the right thing, the hardest step is making that call for help Thanks

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly.
