Hi all

I came off my sertraline 100mg tablets a month ago and now things have started to go very down hill and I'm feeling extremely anxious and having negative thoughts.

So do I take 50mg(cutting my 100mgs in half) or do I start from the very lowest dose and work my way up again.

Thanks
X

Did you come off them abruptly, or in a phased reduction? It's not unusual to have some rebound of depressive symptoms in the early stages of withdrawing SSRI's.
Also, was it your GP or psychiatrist who recommended stopping the tablets, or did you just do it yourself?
I would go and discuss it with your GP rather than experimenting with dosage. Bear in mind that even if you do restart, it may take several weeks for your serotonin levels to build up enough to be effective again.

I came off them slowly. I think I'll speak to my gp then as I might be able to get a lower dosage to build myself back up. Just so upset as I thought I could do this on my own without medication but I'm so down and depressed that it's for the best I go back on them.

Thanks x
