Mental health on the increase

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year.

The average age of onset for depression is 14, as diagnosed now, compared to 45 in the 1960s. Shocking, right?

I am part of a ESRC-funded study looking at the stigma surrounding mental health in the general public, with the hope that an effective intervention can be created. My survey takes just ten to fifteen minutes to complete so any responses would be appreciated.

I will post the advert and link below.
Thank you.

Researchers at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) and the University of Sussex are working on a project to assess mental health awareness in the general population and emergency services staff.

To do this, they need to collect data from 400 people from the general population (i.e. people who do not work for the emergency services).

Participation will involve simply completing an anonymous, online survey, which should take approximately 15 minutes. The survey will consist of responding to a set of questionnaires assessing various aspects of mental health awareness, alongside completing a short computer task.

If you’re interested in taking part, please click on the following link (or scan the QR code using your mobile phone/tablet) to read more about the study and access the online survey:

Thanks very much!
