Has anyone got any experience of using this to manage anxiety?

Good/bad? Side effects?

It has no proven benefit for anxiety but anecdotally people are finding it works for them.

Undercoverbanana · 28/02/2018 11:23

It’s incredibly expensive!

Why are GPs not suggesting it? The tablets they prescribe don’t seem to do anything.

Why are GPs not suggesting it?

The NHS can't afford all the treatments that are proven, there just isn't the money to prescribe things that aren't proven yet.

They are busy doing research on it though. On 12 different conditions and any benefits that it may have. Anxiety being one of them. It's far too early to even surmise how those studies will pan out.

I have started taking cbd oil every day and i think it helps. Its really beneficial in many ways I believe so I'll carry on and see how it goes

I'm hearing that from a lot of people. Let's hope the research finds the same.
I don't think there is any harm in trying it as long as you don't have low blood pressure or Parkinsons disease.

If you're on medication check with a pharmacist.

It gave me a lift from very mild depression, but at the same time it increased my anxiety.
Depending on where you’re buying it from, there are different types. You should contact the seller for advice but you may find it needs a bit of trial and error.

There are a couple of non-selling Facebook groups that I found quite helpful.

My experience is with cannabis, not CBD oil, but smoking or ingesting it has overwhelmingly increased the anxiety of most people I know who used it, including me.

It may be worth a go, but even NICE authorised medications for all sorts of conditions don't work for everyone, so it's never straightforward.

The ‘cbd consumer group uk/eu’ on Facebook are pretty good, especially their info documents on how to take and interactions with prescription medicines etc.
You can get a free sample from CBD Brothers - who are widely said to be very responsible retailers - if you phone them and explain what you need it for: cbdbrothers.com

My experience is with cannabis

Cannabis is known to do that, CBD is a cannabidiol. It has had the THC which causes that removed.

I've been using it for anxiety and it helped me enomously. I had to try a few different brands before I found one that worked for me but eventually I did and have been using it ever since. I have been vaping it recently but am swapping back to oil drops as they now come in pepper mint flavour. I'm awaiting delivery but wil share once it arrives. Goodluck and let us know how you get on?

Philyphil101 · 17/10/2018 14:47

Forgot to add my peppermint drops piccie - they have helped me no end.
