Anxiety and night time

I have had panic attacks in the past and a period of gad. It seems to be mostly under control now thankfully. However, I'm still prone to health anxiety if something comes up and I also over worry about specific things.

Anyway, when I'm worrying, nights can really be dominated by my thoughts. I know about relaxation techniques etc. What I hate is that my night time thoughts can make me think these are my true thoughts. I've made decisions in life based on what I thought at night. Then I have totally the opposite thoughts during the day . Then I get stressed trying to work out what I really think.

Is it just me?

Nope, not just you! I have to tell myself at times that things I think and feel at night aren't usually correct. The more I remind myself of that, the easier it gets to accept it and ignore the thoughts

Nights can be the worst as there’s nothing else to distract you. It’s just you and your thoughts.

Ahh I could have written your post. I tell myself things always seem worse and night and just try to get through it til morning. Sorry not great advice, but you’re not alone.
