So I asked my doctors for my mental health records for a court case on Monday and they are saying it's going to cost £50!!! Anyone know how I could get them cheaper?

Unless you wait until May, when they will have to give you them for free

I have till Monday. Confused and why do they give them out for free in May?

The law changes in May. The Data Protection Act will be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulations, which will require them to provide them for free.
How will you get them by Monday? They still have 20 days to provide them.

You won't get them by Monday, that's a definite.

Maybe ask for an adjournment on Monday if the records are that crucial.

They are allowed to charge, £50 is pretty standard. As a PP has said, from May the data protection laws are changing and they won't be able to charge.
