Hi all! I'm quite new to the website, so hopefully I'm posting this the right way:)
It would be great to know if any of you have used any private psychiatrists/clinics in London and found them useful. My 10 yo has always had issues with anger/moods etc (I'm not going to go into detail here) and recently after a family member passed away started having panic attacks that sometimes stop him from breathing to a point of gagging. It's terrible to see. I've been trying to get referred to a doctor on NHS for last 2 years, but no luck, it seems I'm running in circles with them..
I've tried private counseling (and gosh for a single mom with two kids it's a fortune and a half..) but he doesn't like it and I'm barely getting any feedback from the lady he's seeing. I've called a place I found online and they want £900 for a 2 hour psychiatric assessment, but they won't even tell me exactly what's included in it, just keep ringing for the payment.. I'm happy to fork out this or any other amount just to help my boy, but I want to make sure this is a trustworthy and professional person that will actually help him.
Any advice will be enormously appreciated!!! Thanks!
