Hi Theresa - I was on them but the highest dose (100mg) and even then I didn’t see an improvement. That being said, I know people they have worked wonders for and everyone is different. I am 30 today so also 1988 if that is a reference to your age and found CBT therepy and exercise much more effective xx good luck to you!

Thank you! Just to let you know for the first 3 weeks I felt much worse than I did before and this is completely normal. I hope you have lots of support around you but go to the doctor if things get too bleek x

It helped massively with my serious, hideous PMT. I haven't had an horrific, why-am-I-here? bout of period-related depression since I started taking it 2 years ago.

It hasn't helped with other symptoms, though. Namely anxiety.

It possibly saved my life in the 1990s. However, I was a bit "manic" on them. I take Ecitalopram now which is fabulous. My mood is very stable since starting them about 7 years ago.

Theresa1988 · 28/01/2018 15:26

Thanks all. Id rather feel abit manic than depressed ha! Been on them 10 days and last few days just fely very down and teary but hopefully thats just them messing around x. X

They should take about 2 weeks to kick in. Give it a few more days and it you feel no better go back to your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.

They worked for me in that they stopped me from feeling depressed but it ended up the extreme opposite where I felt like a robot and completely emotionally disconnected from life. No funny side effects though.

Cambam2010 · 29/01/2018 12:53

I was prescribed these to help with severe PMS. Dr said to take them 2 weeks leading up to period then stop for two weeks and repeat. Well during the 2 weeks break I had a horrendous headache every day and I couldn't face that everytime I stopped taking them so I haven't taken them since. I still feel increadibly down & anxious, esp before my period but I am trying to tackle it in other ways such as through diet and CBT as I cannot stand the thought of going back to the dr to try different meds.
