Hi - I am on mirtazipine at night and Prozac in the morning - I take the mirtazipine at night because it is supposed to have a bit of a sedative effect, and insomnia is one of the symptoms of my depression.

Initially this did help, but I am going through a really bad patch of insomnia at the moment - not getting to sleep until 2-3am, and feeling like crap every day as a result, and am wondering if I could take an over the counter tablet like Sleepeeze (one with diphenhydramine in, not a valerian based one - they don’t work, and make me throw up if I am on ADs).

I am getting desperate - all I want is a decent night’s sleep!

Has anyone taken one of these sleeping tablets with mirtazipine, and were you OK having done so?

I won’t be staying in these for long - but it would be amazing to have a couple of nights where I can fall asleep fairly easily.

Really think you need to go back to whoever prescribed your ADs and discuss with them rather than self medicating.
