Hi. I suffer with really bad anxiety attacks. It's like heightened senses, racing thoughts and a truly awful uncomfortable feeling. I had one yesterday, I went to visit my kids and my anxiety attack started as soon as I got on the bus at 11am and lasted all the way through till about 7pm Sad I felt truly awful Sad I'm not on any medication for a few reasons (it's complicated) so I need to find a way to manage my anxiety naturally. Does anyone have any tips on how I can calm down during an anxiety attack? I get them about every three days and they last for about six to seven hours Sad I really want to be free from anxiety. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Yep me all the time. I try to encourage the panic to get worse, which sounds ridiculous but it's me taking control. Bring it on, it can't harm you however hard it tries.

Hi. I started having anxiety attacks about 6 months ago out of nowhere. Anyway, they didn't last as long as yours and I'm now on 30mg citalopram to control it. I couldn't cope without it. Anyway, what I find helpful is doing something mundane to distract yourself like ironing or washing up. Listening to music and singing along. Also thinking about it all logically helps me. Along the lines of "it's just a chemical imbalance in my brain making me feel this way. It's just the anxiety, nothing bad is going to happen." And concentrate on controlling your breathing. To slow your heart rate take a deep breath and hold it in for 5 secs. Just try and take long slow breaths. I hope this helps
