Panic attacks

I have no idea why but the past two days have been hell for my panic attacks. I feel them building all day. They last for 2 hours at a time and I'm even waking in the night.
What do you do to prevent them? Does anyone call support groups etc for help?
Thanks in advance

I went through a short stage of having panic attacks. They were short but terrifying because I couldn't breathe which of course made me more panicky. I spoke to the doctor about them and he asked if I had been stressed recently. I said "no, I split from my long-term DP (4 years), moved house and changed jobs, but I don't feel stressed." He gave me "a look" and said that I was stressed without realising it. For me, just knowing what caused them and that it was perfectly normal to have them, made them stop. May well not be the case for you of course. Have you tried mindfulness or breathing techniques?

I found mindfulness and meditation useful to reduce my anxiety and ward off pannic attacks when I felt them coming. The headspace app is really useful for this.

I also saw my GP and started on Mirtazapine, which I found really helpful. I am seeing a councellor, who I find helpful and I saw an NLP therapist who made a massive difference to me.
