Just what do sessions look like in general? What to expect?

Expect an agenda, which should be collaboratively agreed and which should focus on the identified problem and goals. You will be trying to spot negative automatic thoughts, and to change the behaviours you do in response to them which might inadvertently keep the behaviour going. Homework would typically be keeping a thought diary, or trying out something you have agreed with your therapist and monitoring the outcome of the experiment. You will also be learning helpful information related to your condition and thinking eg common thinking traps. Hope this makes sense.
