for clipping a fcking wing mirror. I went back and the car had gone , no damage on mine at all. Que panic attacks and hours of googling before ringing police and dobbing myself in.
Now I have to wait for an officer to ring me back tomorrow. Ffs I thought they'd just log it on the system incase the other person reported it.
I know this is something most ppl wouldnt have give a second thought to and I haven't had much support from DP whose reponse was 'well I just wouldn't have clipped the mirror' so I came on here to be amongst fellow anxiety sufferers who might know what I'm going through.
Totally ruined my night I've done nothing but panic since I came home.

Oh dear you poor thing. I can't give much advice but for what it's worth I think you've done the right thing and I don't think that you'll be in any trouble. Flowers

Your feelings are never ridiculous because you are a person and you matter.

Your panic is though unnecessary. I don't know much about dealing with anxiety but please remind yourself that you haven't actually committed any crimes. If the owner of the other car doesn't report it neither you nor the police will be any the wiser. Also honk about it the other way around. If you had parked your car and someone else clipped your wing mirror, IF there was any damage at all you may not notice the damage for a few days. Then even if you did decide to claim it on the insurance you wouldn't know when or where it had happened. You almost certainly wouldn't consider reporting it to the police.

Do try not to worry the police person tomorrow won't be trying to 'get' you. They'll just be taking the details in order to log a report.

Hugs and Flowers. Try to have a cup of tea and settle down before bed. x

Hi comps, I Think when you have anxiety this sort of thing is difficult because if you reflect on it, and it's hard to fill the gaps in about what happened, it can be very anxiety provoking. I used to panic that I had inadvertently run over something in the road when I felt a bump in the road. Anxiety plays tricks.
If you want to , pop over to the anxiety thread there are some lovely people there.
