Hiya, I'm on Sertraline 150mg, and have just been prescribed Duloxetine (for depression, anxiety and fibromyalgia). I'm on a LOT of other medications, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has been on two or more antidepressants at a time?

I also take tramadol, so I have a lot of serotonin pumping through my brain xx

I have, but only as I was coming off one and introducing a second one - so for a short time. Is this prescribed by a GP or a psychiatrist? If it's a psychiatrist, I'd assume they know what they're doing, but if a GP - to be honest I'd be nervous whether they really know what they're doing.

Well the Sertraline was prescribed by my Psychiatrist, but the Duloxetine was prescribed my GP. Kind of confusing but I refused to go off of Sertraline because it helped me so much, but my GP mainly prescribed it for pain xx

OP I was going to say what chocolateworshipper said, make sure everyone involved is aware of what you're taking. There is something called seratonin syndrome (I can't pretend to know more about it aside from what I read here www.webmd.com/depression/guide/serotonin-syndrome-causes-symptoms-treatments#1 ). I don't mean to frighten you, I don't think it is a common thing, but everyone should be on the same page.
A pharmacist might be of some help here if you want to check there is no interaction issue.

I'm on 2- venlafaxine and mirtazapine, both at high doses. But this was prescribed by a psychiatrist. I'm not an expert but I'd be wary about a GP prescribing more than 1 anti depressant at a time. I thought that it had to be psychiatrists that did that due to risk of serotonin syndrome etc.

GPs aren't infallible. My mum ended up on a cocktail and it was only when she got assessed by the DWP was it flagged that a GP shouldn't have been prescribing those drugs without input from a psychiatrist.

I have heard of serotonin syndrome before and that's what scares me! I am usually on (but weaning off due to pregnancy)

Pregabalin
Morphine ER (30mg twice a day)
Sertraline
Omeprazole
Tramadol
Methocarbamol
Ivabradine
Diazepam
Promethazine
Fludrocortisone
Cyclizine
Midodrine
Duloxetine (recently prescribed)

If that's of any use at all. I obviously do not want serotonin syndrome. It sounds horrible xx
