It recently dawned on me that my DD is a half glass full kinda girl, but unfortunately I don't have this attitude.

Ant tips to being half glass full?

I think it comes with habit.
So, after every 'event' (be that something like a holiday, or just an ordinary day at work) ask 'what was the best thing about it?', and actively look for it. Get into the habit, rather than just grunting to the question 'Nice day?', of thinking of one tiny little bit that was funny, or was nice, or did make you smile.
You'll find it cheers you up, and gets easier once you've done it a few times. You then realise that it gives you a nice feeling, and you tend to start doing it more for the 'warm' feeling.

That's interesting, I will try, thanks.
