Citalopram newbie - feeling buzzy and high

I'm on Day 3 of Citalopram 20mg. I woke up this morning feeling like I'd been out clubbing/almost like I'd taken ecstasy/drunk a lot of coffee last night. I know they're supposed to take 2-3 weeks to kick in, but that 'high' was quite nice to feel.

Anyone else feel buzzy like that?

It will settle down but yes. They work in much the same way so will give you similar sensations but to a far lesser degree. I had distinct tightness in my jaw.

I totally had that with Citalopram when I took it, it settles down. Had it to a similar extent with Sertraline recently.

I had that and really high arousal. Lasted less than a week.

When my friend was first prescribed it she was high as a kite and up at 3am doing a full spring clean of the house. Settled down after a week or so.

Just keep an eye on it and be aware that antidepressants can trigger mania in some people.

I was prescribed Sertraline for PND. It sent me manic and triggered bipolar in me. I'd never experienced any form of metnal illness before so had no reason to be concerend about taking AD's. I'm still suffering 7 years later.

I was given a really low dose but it made me tired, could have slept for hours. Is that normal?
