Mirtazapine withdrawal

Hi, I came off mirtazapine 45mg about 9 days ago (I think). I came off cold turkey. I know it's not recommended. My CPN knows I've done this and she just said she'd get it removed from my repeat prescription list.

I have felt ok up until now, but today I feel anxious, no motivation whatsoever and just a bit weird. Is this mirtazapine withdrawal and how long should I expect it to last? Does anyone have any experience of withdrawing from mirtazapine?

Thanks

Yes but I did it over 6 months not cold turkey. I did experience some withdrawal symptoms about 2 weeks after withdrawing completely (having been on only 7.5mg for a few weeks), anxiety peaked, trouble sleeping, headaches (possibly unrelated though). If you find the anxiety becoming unbearable you might want to consider just going back
on a low dose and then coming off a bit more slowly. You were on the highest dose and so to go from that to nothing is going to have an effect but if you can tolerate it knowing it's temporary then that's great. I personally think coming off it is harder than the doctors say but everyone reacts differently. Good luck

Thankyou Ashers. I do think I can handle it, although it is feeling quite hard. I've just had some chamomile tea and a valerian capsule to help calm me down. Really struggling today.

One day at a time calmday. How is your sleep?

My sleep is fine thanks. I sleep about ten hours a night.

I feel ok today. My anxiety is quite low. Maybe I'm over the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. I really hope so.

I also notice a really clear head. I spent three years on antipsychotics and came off them a few weeks ago. So I think this clear head is due to coming off of them.

Please God let me have a day without anxiety today! I was really struggling yesterday!
