Sometimes I feel suicidal (may be triggering)

But I haven't spoken to anyone about it. It's not a thought that builds up, it just seems to come over me suddenly. I then have to wait for it to pass. It's a physical feeling. Almost a pain. I feel an urge to slash my wrists, and can feel the pain in my wrists as I think about it.
I know this isn't 'normal', and have wondered recently if it might be a symptom of PTSD.

Hi op

Sorry you are going through this
I would see your dr

WingsofNylon · 06/08/2017 22:08

Hello. I really think it is important for you to tell your doctor. It is a great first stept get you have put it here but telling someone I feel life will ease some of that burden. I had similar thoughts for a couple of years before I told my dr. Even though at that point we decided not to take any action jsut saying it out loud made me feel better. More in control.

Can you see a patter in what triggers the feeeling? If you can identify that maybe discuss that with someone if you aren't ready to voice the suicide but just yet.

Do you have friends or family you could reach out to?

Also right you might want mumsnet to move this to mental health where you will get more support.

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly. We notice you posted in 30 days only so if you would still like your thread to disappear after 30 days just drop us a line and we'll be happy to delete it for you.

Hi There Lost23,

We're so sorry to hear you're feeling so alone. Mumsnet can be a useful place for support and comfort but please do seek help in real life too as nothing can replace that.

Our Mental Health topic is open to all so please do start your own thread there if you'd like to.

We hope things seem a lot brighter for you and the OP very soon.
