Started 20mg Prozac end of May
Increased to 40mg 4 weeks ago.

In the last few days I've had horrid head pain I think caused by teeth/jaw clenching in my sleep.
It feels like sinus like pain and is in my ears as well.

My sleep pattern has changed in the last couple of weeks as well. I don't wake in the small hours any more but I am struggling to get to sleep and do still wake early.

I did not have too bad side-effects when I first started the meds (mainly dry mouth and feeling woolly in my head). Can side effects start at this stage. I feel crap TBH.

I'm been on them for 16 odd years - teeth grinding is an issue. I sorta have fits in my sleep too. Have you tried a gum guard?

Hi, I've been on Fluoxetine for 8 years. Currently taking 60mg. I also clench my teeth in my sleep but I'm not sure whether this has more to do with my anxiety than the medication. In my experience it can take quite a while for you to get fully settled on Fluoxetine. I know in the leaflet it says side effects usually improve after 2 weeks but I've found it can take much longer. Seeing as you've only been on a higher dose for 4 weeks I would leave it another 2-4 weeks and see if anything improves. If not go back to see your GP. When increasing the dose I usually have done it very slowly (5mg extra a week) and this helps limit side effects. But SSRIs can have a range of side effects and if the side effects are very severe you may be better trying a different one. E.G Citalopram.
Hope things improve for you.
Best wishes.
