Using alcohol to deal with depression

I went to see my GP last week because I feel that my mental health is slipping and I'm headed for a breakdown. She didn't want me to increase my anti-depressant dosage as I had found it made things worse on a higher dose in the past. Because of other symptoms I have been having she wants me to have a blood test to rule out any underlying health factors before making any changes to my medication. Due to lack of appointments it's going to be another month before I can have the blood test. Things have been pretty bad lately and I've ended up resorting to alcohol to get me through the day but I'm worried that it's a slippery slope and I'm going to end up in an even worse state as a result. I haven't been drinking to excess but having a glass of wine in the early evening to stop me feeling so jittery, panicky and anxious.

Does anyone have any advice?

I'm sorry you feel like this Flowers

I too have started to drink for the same reasons, although I can't seem to stop at one. This makes me in a worse state than I was before.

I have an app called Calm on my phone, maybe you could try this?

I don't have any real advice, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. Hopefully someone will come along and be able to help xx
