Placement and suspected PMDD

I'm on a placement for a university course and it's only my second week. Have come down with horrific PMT. This is regular and I suspect PMDD but not diagnosed, I'm formally diagnosed with BPD and depression. How the fuck do I get through this? It's usually only 5-7 days but I've have periods of up to a month of severe depression then recovery/exhaustion. I'm crying all the time, suicidal thoughts, no energy. It's a client facing role and I'm a awful mess. I hate my reproductive system.

Hi, I often supervise students on placement. My advise would be:

  1. Consider if you are well enough to be there or need to have some time off sick. Missing some of your placement is not the end of the world, you can always repeat it if necessary.
  1. See your GP if you haven't already.
  1. Speak to your placement supervisor and uni tutor and let them know that you are struggling due to your mental health at the moment. They may be able to suggest things that will make your workload easier and if they are aware can take your situation into account when grading you.
