Help with my therapy survey please

Name changed for this.

I'm currently doing CBT therapy. As part of my treatment my therapist has asked me to put together a short survey and ask a few people to fill it in. It should take no more than two minutes. If anyone would like to fill it, then I'd really appreciate some honest answers to the questions.

Many. many thanks in advance.

Done. I suffer from anxiety so may have skewed my results

overwhelmedbyitall · 20/05/2017 20:46

Done. Hope it helps. Would be interested if you find out anything helpful that comes up...

Completed. Be interested to see the results as it can feel like your the only one thinking this sometimes but I'm sure it is more common.

Thanks so much. Really appreciate so many people taking the time to do this.

For those who've said they're interested: I'll try to put together a little summary of the results on Thursday or Friday. Will leave the survey open until then in case more people want to respond.

Thanks to everyone who completed this survey. I've now closed it as I can only view 100 responses for free on SurveyMonkey and I've had 101! My therapist said I only needed about 20, so this is fantastic and I'm very grateful to Mumsnetters!

A summary of the results:

  1. Do you ever worry about things that are highly unlikely to happen?

Yes: 82%
No:18%

  1. If you answered yes to question one, what % of your time do you think you spend worrying about these things?

Less than 1%: 6%
Less than 5%: 22%
5%-20%: 30%
21%-40%: 16%
41%-60%: 20%
More than 60%: 6%

  1. How does worry affect you? Please tick all that apply.

I loose sleep: 63%
It makes me tired: 55%
I makes me restless: 55%
It makes me irritable: 60%
It makes me tense: 87%

  1. Do thoughts of something bad happening to someone you love pop into your head randomly?

Yes: 75%
No: 25%

  1. If you answered yes to question four, how often do these thoughts pop into your head? Please choose one answer.

Less than once a week: 32%
1-3 times a week: 39%
4 – 6 times a week: 17%
Everyday: 10%
More than once a day: 3%

The final question asked 'How do you deal with those worries?' and allowed for an open ended answer. I won't post the answers I got as I don't think I have people's permission to share their answers with others (and it would make this post really long!), but I am really grateful for the answers which have really helped me.
