Started on 25 mg of sertraline a while ago was supposed to up to 50 mg after a week but felt so much better after a few days I stayed at 25 mg for a month or so. Upped to 50 mg a while back but now feel the same as I did before I started on them. Not had a review since being prescribed them should I go back to the gp ? First time on sertraline not sure if 50 mg is a low average or high dose

I think you should go back to the dr.

I've been taking 50mg for around 3 months. My gp said this is a low dose and he expects me to stabilise at 100mg. I am now taking 75mg on his advice. As Private suggests I would go back for a review.

Thanks I will see my gp like I said I almost instantly saw the benefits of taking it at 25 mg then again at 50 mg but now I can feel myself struggling again as this is my first time on sertraline i was unsure what is the average dose.

I was basically told take 25 mg for one week then up to 50 mg no review date no u should stabilise at x amount. Put in a repeat prescription half expecting it to be declined before sesing the gp which happened with my contraceptive pill but picked it up no problem lol.
