10mg is a very low dose.
I don't know your background, but I was wary of taking ADS ( I had Citalopram), but felt so low that I decided to give it a go & they really helped me over a dark spell.
I was on 25mg btw, which was considered a low dose!
Give them a go & if you don't get on with them, then you know they are not for you.

Hi Jetjets,

3 weeks ago - I was in exactly your situation. I was prescribed 20mg citalopram and I didn;t take any for a week as I felt I didn't need them and was going to get through pnd with positive thought. 1 week later, I went through a rough patch again and decided positive thought was not enough for me personally - I needed additional help. I took the ads and now 2 weeks on I feel really good - like my old self again.

Like you, I had a real problem with the perceived stigma of taking ads - but honestly they really do help and once you start to feel better you'll wonder why on earth you made such a fuss about taking them in the first place.

Wishing you all the best in your decision whatever it is.
