I had my first one today, very surreal! My guy just asked me the sort of responses I had when I was reliving my son's birth, and then went on to say thar I would always feel guilty over it but I had to learn to accept it! I had already guessed that. He made me do this relaxation technique which involved me shutting my eyes and concentrating on my breathing. I found this really difficult to do infront of a stranger. He then showed me a computer programme called Beating the Blues which they use to help people work through their anxiety and or depression. I said I was willing to have a go at it to then be told there was a 3-4 mth wait! Other than that he gave me a couple of titles of self help books and said he would "touch base" with me again! Not really what I expected, bit disappointed. Hope your's is more successful!

Have a look at this website. Its CBT based so will give you a clue of the type of stuff you will be looking at. CBT is meant to be quite bounderied and focused. You will be expected to do 'homework' and do lots of challenging of the origin of your anxieties. It works for a lot of people but you have to be motivated. GOOD LUCK

What a great site mmelody! My DH has always suffered with social anxiety and depression etc and is embarking on CBT in the next few weeks following a breakdown. This site looks really good so thanks for posting it
