PMDD at Christmas

I have suffered with pmdd/severe PMS for as long as I can remember. I am due on Christmas Eve/Christmas day and this week pmdd has reared its ugly head. I am gutted! I have loads of family to see/things to organise and I have just "crashed". I am overwhelmed, depressed and a bit of a nightmare to be around tbh. I know in my head this will pass but it is honestly like I have some sort of personality transplant! I don't want this to ruin Christmas

Trying to be light hearted about somethig that really can be difficult, I do know a very bad joke about PMT... but is needs to be spoken not read...

I have just been diagnosed with PMDD and hoping that the treatment works. How did you go with Xmas?

Hello, I hope you get the help that you need. What treatment are you having? I finally went to the doctors a few months ago after suffering for years, I am now on the pill Yasmin. No pmdd symptoms yet but it's still early days. Christmas was fine in the end. I had my period on Christmas Eve and the symptoms disappeared!

I have just been put on Lexapro 10mg and just took my first pill. I don't know if it will work for me. But I have never taken anything before.
Glad to hear Xmas went well!

Hi, in my fourth year of pmdd. And not medicated. I use cbd oil for the nausea, pain, and general malaise feeling. Antidepressants didn't work for me, antipsychotics did for the "hulk symptom" (the extreme anger and hate). But realized it was only useful for that symptom which is only maybe 1-3 days out of what could be 21 days. This article helped me to get it so please read. Also beware of folic acid to this with pmdd ttc, most of us don't have the enzyme to convert the folic acid (man made) into folate(its real form). Therefor prenatals with folic acid can get us very sick! After 3 months of poisoning myself accidentally with this I'm still having issues with my stomach so please be aware!

Good luck on your journey with pmdd!
