I feel like crap all the time, so tired, no energy to do anything except sleep.
My partner is not very understanding and has a go at me for not wanting to talk to him.
I dont know what to do, i dont want to go to the doctor and talk about it, i know i'll get upset and i dont want to look a fool.

Of course you won't look a fool. The doctor will have seen this so often before - s/he will be sympathetic and can offer you help.

If you think you won't be able to get the words out, write it all down and give it to the doctor to read. But do go and see someone - there is help out there, but you have to ask for it.

Dont ever think you are a fool. You would be suprise just how much doctors will want to help you. When I had my second child I felt the same as you. I went to my doctors and he got me to answer a quick questionaire. It became apparent that I could be suffering with post natal depression. He put me in touch with a group nearby that I could go to and speak with other new mothers, plus offered counselling and of course medication.

Try it and there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you, I promise. God bless you.

My story sounds similar to yours. Have 9 yr old 2.5 yr old & 1 yr old. Like you I wasnt sure if I had PND and was crying a lot and always tired and felt like I was not coping. When I finally went to the doctors he sent me home saying I did not come across as depressed & that I was probably just tired with two little ones to look after. I had to go back again & saw another doctor who said the same & just patted me on the back said "chin up, dont let it get you down, be strong!" and sent me on my way again. My HV was the one who finally diagnosed me. That was nearly 5 months ago and I have been taking anti deps since then. I am def a lot better but am now worried that I am gonna be stuck on these tablets forever, worried to stop in case I get PND again. I have spoken to my doc bout comin off them but he thinks is too soon. All I can say is if you feel like you are at breaking point and cant take any more which is how I was then the tablets will help I am sure. But how you then cope with the stigma of PND and being on tablets ? Well loggin onto MN helps !!! Lots of us out there who are going through this. Sorry so long. Good luck x
