Hi just that really- been to doc today and been prescribed this for anxiety disorder. Tried prozac and didn't agree nor did beta blockers, any tips/ advice? Scared of potential side effects but the Diazapam is not enough.

Ok helped my anxiety - made me a bit sleepy... So came off it... But Big mistake....

PunkrockerGirl · 29/06/2016 06:39

Yes, for years. I was prescribed it for depression, primarily, but was told that it's good for anxiety disorders too. No side effects apart from a very dry mouth but I believe that's common with most antidepressants.
Good luck Flowers

Am for years then pm bc of sleepiness - did not change much though...

sparkle789 · 29/06/2016 07:05

I'm on it. I take it in the morning.

It didn't make me drowsy but the side affects I had/have are: loss of appetite and weight loss (lost 2 stone fairly quickly but I was overweight so wasn't a problem and that side affect has stopped now) jaw clenching at night, and strange dreams.

MountainDweller · 29/06/2016 18:51

I've taken it twice. First time was fine apart from feeling overheated and sweating. Second time was awful... Fatigue, nausea, sweating, shaking and chills like I had flu. Worked for the depression and anxiety and nerve pain but no use as I couldn't get off the sofa! I think it's really hard to predict how you'll react as everyone is so different.

Orchidflower1 · 29/06/2016 18:54

Thanks mountaindweller I know what you mean people are different I think it's probably because ive not heard of it before. X

Just startet up on cymbalta again today...

Puff42 · 07/07/2016 17:23

I take 30 mg at night in case of sleepiness. I love it, it has done wonder for my anxiety and racing thoughts.

AnxietySertraline · 07/07/2016 18:24

I am on day 7 with cymbalta now for the 3. time in my life. Started with 30 mg for 2 days, then 60 mg for 3 days and now 90 mg for 2 days so far. Been increasing fast as changing meds from Sertraline and am in hospital...

Orchidflower1 · 07/07/2016 20:18

Can I ask how you're all getting on now? I've just been prescribed this for anxiety and it would be good to hear about any experiences! Thanks.
