Aquamarine I have not tried this.
What I have tried and can recommend is Emotional Freedom Technique, practised by yourself. I don't know why it works but it does in my opinion. Trapped emotions come to the surface of your mind and are released through the process. Physical signs are yawning involuntarily/ crying (in a way that feels like a release).
You go on and on through levels of thoughts and feelings like peeling an onion.
It may in effect be a form of Mindfulness, but that is just my personal explanation of why it seemed to work.
You do have to commit to doing it a few times a day to get an effect though.
I had not had major trauma like you. On the other hand if you have tried counselling and it did not help, what would you have to lose?
It may in effect be a form of Mindfulness.
I do not have the book I used to hand but could look for it later if your are interested.
The other thing that hellps is Magnesium, zinc, vitamin B and Vitamin D (unless you live in a sunny place)
