Its been 10 years since my first breakdown. My DX is ocd with depression. I also have general anxiety and occasional agoraphobia.

I'm sick of being sick basically, partly my own fault partly life getting in the way.

I have antidepressants prescribed, I've also got sleeping tablets as had crap sleep pattern for past year following a particularly bad chest infection. I'm also awaiting physion for a physical problem which causes pain and mobility issues.

I hate taking the antidepressants I don't like how they make me feel but have I think accepted I must. But they don't completely sort me. I've read that vitamin d and b vitamin and iron deficiencies can also cause low mood so I've bought some supplememts but then I read some can't be taken with others and I'm confused.

I have

Vit d3 25ug
Flaxseed oil 500mg
Zinc 15mg

Wilko multivitamins (berocca style) containing
Vit c 476mg
Vit b1 10.4mg
Vit b2 13.6mg
Niacin 45.3mg
Vit b6 7.1mg
Folic acid 200ug
Vit b12 8.4ug
Biotin 130ug
Pantothenic acid 22.7 mg
Magnesium 95mg
Zinc 9mg

So what can/should I be taking? I've read that zinc/vit d can be bad for some people?

As I say I'm confused

You've posted this in children's health - this is for you as an adult?

I would normally say to take your prescribed medication, but there's an increasing weight of evidence to suggest that anti depressants are no better than placebo for mild to moderate depression. And obviously they come with side effects.

The alternative isn't vitamins and supplements though, it is things like counselling, mindfulness practice, exercise, diet and practising gratitude.

I noticed as soon as I hit 'create' it was in wrong section and asked for it to be moved.

Yes me as an adult. Not instead of ad's but as well as. I've done loads of therapy etc already.
