Pnd and medication questions

I started taking ADs about 6 weeks ago for PND and anxiety issues. I feel like they are really helping and feel normal again. I wonder though how I will know when I will be ready to stop taking them (I know its only early days) a couple of times I have forgotten to take it in the morning, by the time I had rembered it was late evening and have found I felt down and emotional again for a day or so. Is it normal for the effects of the medication to wear off so quickly? and How will I know when the PND has passed or whether its the medication making me feel better

think with most antidepressants they tend to leave you on them for 6mths to build up seretonin levels and then consider doing gradual withdrawal. as for meds wearing off it may be that but more likely to be thinking its due to meds if that makes sense.

agree with nemo - have had days when I've forgotten one day then felt down, but then I forgot to take them on hols so was off them for a week inadvertently and was absolutely fine, so I think it's probably coincidence.

Ok, thanks for that. I know I am not supposed to drink whilst on them, but will probably want to have a glass or two over the next few days , what effect will alcohol have?

if only a glass or two not very much.

yeah if it's a glass of two you should be OK, sometimes people find that ads and alcohol don't combine well - never had a problem personally, but best to be very cautious till you have a feel for whether you are particularly affected or not.
