Guide for Pip form?

I am trying to help a friend with depression to complete the Pip form. Is there a kind of guide. I know there are guides for DLA for children with developmental disorders but could not find a PIP/MH equivalent.
Thanks.

As far as I know I don't think there is one! I belong to a disability forum on Facebook with over 21k members and it's something frequently asked about. Most people are directed to look at the cerebra website for their dla guide for children - although it is for children some of the pointers and jargon is very useful.

I have a support worker from the Hear Us charity who helped me with mine, as they are very experienced in dealing with the benefits agencies.
I heard about them through Mind, it may be worth seeing if there's something similar in your area.

thanks fairy, I used the cerebra guide for my Dd's dla claim and will dig it out.

cherry, thanks, will ask my friend to look into this. just thought it would be easier if I can help... have the feeling it won't get done otherwise.

Have a look here for general guidance

Descriptors are here

There are several charities around that will help with completing the form if you need it.

I recommend joining Benefits and Work, who produce guides and help.

Bloody hell - I've just had a look at this: I hadn't realised that I am technically (well, according to the forms - I realise from the old days of the assessment that this isn't straightforward) eligible for the enhanced rate of PIP. It never occurred to me... (Note: I'm not intending to claim - just staggered that I am technically eligible to, with 22 points on daily living)
