...just been given this instead of citalopram

did anybody take it and have positive things to say about it?

I'm quite nervous about it having looked around the web!

I don't think people comment much when things are ok do they?

Yes! I was given it instead of Citalopram which I didn't get on with at all and have found it much easier to deal with, have had no side effects and would recommend it

Its a tricyclic drug which is quite an old fashioned drug, just wondering if you were given a reason for being put on it?
Have you tried many other AD's?
Are you BF?

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 13/12/2006 19:13

I was told that when GP changed my prescription. I felt dreadful on Citalopram but have had no problems at all with Lofepramine

GlennCloseAsCruellaDeVille · 13/12/2006 19:14

because it is a modified tricyclic

I have only been on citalopram this time but have dry mouth, ecessive thirst, sore tongue and gums, headaches, poor sleep

I had a succession of ads, etc in 1999 and have not had anything since but decided to try again

not bf

the ones I had before were

Fluoxetine
Paraxetine
Sertraline
Dosulepin
Dioxepin
Venlafaxine
Lithium

I think I was trying to get him to try venlafaxine now but he is trying this lofepramine instead

oh, I was on these, they were excellent. Can't remember what I was on before, but I was switched to these - 3 a day, and they really did work. Well, they made me feel quite numb and blank, but that was quite an improvement Came off suddenly when I found out I was pregnant, and didn't have much of a reaction.

Little red ones, I think they are all the same... can't remember what dose though.

hello again!

Glad you're not BF!! (with these meds I mean!)
If you've been on other AD's in the past, give em a go I say! As long as you feel OK on them!

GlennCloseAsCruellaDeVille · 14/12/2006 19:16

thanks

I do have rather a hot face this evening but that's better than a headache and my sore mouth is recovering so will see what happens

I am not at all keen on this ad businesss
