Cannot cope with all this sh*t at home any more, need to get right away before I do worse. Where can I rent a flat or something inexpensively but not in a red light district iyswim?

Come to Swansea in Wales.

I'm from Essex/London originally but now live near the Gower Coast, Swansea.

You go ten minutes one way and there are your shops etc, ten minutes another way and there is beautiful countryside and woods and ten minutes in another direction and the best beaches and coves in the UK.

However, if you have problems, moving may not be the answer as your issues are your issues wherever you live.

Depends where you want to be--city or rural, somewhere warmer, somewhere with job opportunities?

Also depends on your definition of inexpensive

"However, if you have problems, moving may not be the answer as your issues are your issues wherever you live."

Lots of depression is due to extrinsic, not intrinsic, factors. Moving can be the solution.

Put simply - somewhere I can find a place to rent within the housing benefit allowances. Don't really mind whether city or rural but know the southern part of the UK better so mild preference for there. Job prospects not an immediate issue as I am not well enough to work reliably.

I second South West Wales. However it's pretty economically deprived in places so when the time comes getting a job won't be as easy as other areas.

I hope you're OK OP Flowers

Are you sure that relocating will make you feel better? It's a huge stress finding a place to live, especially in a new area. Should you be looking at other things you can do to improve your mental health?
