Citalopram and sleep

Hello all,
I've been on CT for about 8-9 years, mostly on 20mg, occasionally more depending on how I am on.

I've been on 40mg since start of September. The past 2-3 weeks my sleep has become really messed up; in the midst of a depressive episode I can sleep like an olympian and did the first few weeks.

Now I go to bed tired, maybe sleep for an hour and then I'm awake.
All. Night. Long.

Today awake until 7am (read a whole book overnight), then a hour or two sleep.

Weirdly I am then very huper in the day and don't feel particularly tired; part of that is that I'm not under pressure to be up for work as I'm off sick.

Used nytol and then dr prescribed short dose of zolpidem 10mg. It gets me off but again only for about 2-3 hours and I'm awake again.

I'm also taking beta blockers and last week felt I was making progress quite well, but the sleep is really starting to bug me - my bed is my sanctuary, but last night I felt so anxious in it as I felt I wouldn't sleep - and I didn't.

Help. Anyone had similar?

I should add I've never had trouble sleeping on the CT, so am not sure if its my general state of mind, or the high dose I'm on at the moment.

Its weird I'm not feeling it as well, although I don't feel quite right.
