Just been to GP,s with DH

Some of you may remember me posting about my DH and his uncle abusing him as a child, well he got the police involved after years of picking up the courage but there is not enough evidence and the CPS dropped the case.

My DH is a broken man

He has been off work for nearly 3 months, he has been taking a high dose of Cipralex and i went with him to the GP as he still doesnt feel right and they have prescribed him a sedative

He has not interest in anything, doesnt go out, he is not the man i married and its killing me, i dont know how to help him or what to say to him, i wish i could make his pain go away but i cant.

I dont know why i have posted i just felt the need to tell someone.

I dont know what to say other than I send hugs to both you and your DH.
Has he had any form of counselling??

jenk1 - you poor thing, I think I do remember you posting about your dh - was he the man who'se family were unsupportive too? He will improve, has he thought about counselling - he probably needs to get it all out of his system before he can move on. You have my sympathies, it must be tough on you too.

yes he has seen a psychiatrist at our local hospital and he has referred him for counselling, but... there is a long waiting list and with him being out of work and only on SSP we cant afford for him to go private, my counsellor knows my DH quite well, she has had dealings with him because of me and she has told me that all i can do at the moment is to show him kindness and be loving which is what i am doing but its just hard to watch..
