Question about AD's

I have been on Citalopram for about 6 weeks now and still experiencing side effects such as profuse sweating, anxiety and panic, headaches and nervousness.

I saw my GP 2 weeks ago and told him I am experiencing these syptoms but he didn't seemed at all bothered and gave me another prescription. Should I see another GP and ask for another AD? I understand there are several different AD's on the market.

Any advice appreciated.

I was prescibed these for postnatal depression and general anxiety.

it shouldn't be taking that long - I would ask to swap to a different brand.

i've been on sertraline for 18 months now and i still get side effects, esp if i'm run down. the worst ones are migraines and general wooziness. all my gp did was mess with the dosage. i'm on 150mg now coz when i was on 50 & 100mg the pnd was awful. so he's given me tabs to treat the side effects. give it a bit longer 2 weeks or so, if it's still bad go back and ask if there's another ad you can try

I am on day 12 of Citalopram 20mg and Im feeling really nervous and agitated this morning, its horrible, I suppose its helping the depression as that has been bad enough to make me feel desparate and hopeless so I dont feel I have much of a choice. I did have Citalopram about 10 years ago and I cant remember if I had such side effects but I do remember they helped me enough to get on with my life and find happiness in the end. The nervousness is awful and do you feel like youre being 'wound up' ? like some sort of speed ( though Ive never tried speed ! tho I suspect it feels like this ?!) Does anyone know when this speeding up side effect calms down ? xx
