Night anxiety. How do I solve this?

My DD is 8. During the day I don't think of her at all, whether she is at school or away with somebody else. But at night time when she is sleeping right in front of my face I have to check that she is breathing. I check when I go up to bed. I check again before I go to sleep. I usually wake in the night and check again.

There is no reason for this anxiety. She doesn't suffer any health condition that would stop her breathing and I thankfully haven't lost a child. Both she and her next brother up (15 year gap) did have one episode of stopping breathing at a few weeks old, but I can't see that's enough to have caused this. (Both started spontaneously when picked up)

I have qualified as a First Aider, and a First Responder (CPR) to try to stop worrying, and I am on ADs. But still the night worrying disturbs my sleep. Help.

Interesting why this one should worry you OP when you don't worry on the whole! Perhaps there is a reason but you are just not aware of it, perhaps it's subconscious. Is it worth talking to the doctor about, perhaps a chat with a medic would help? see that a chat with a medic will help?
